Easter Photo Tip #3 – Take a Family or Child’s Portrait
Easter is a great alternative to Christmas for the annual portrait. Take a photo when your family dresses up for church (if you do). Or just ask the kids to clean up and change into some bright clothes.
– Shoot outside at a spring-like location. Avoid the direct sun by choosing a shaded spot to reduce harsh shadows.
- Use your camera’s flash (even outdoors). It will make your family or child pop from the background and add a sparkle to their eyes.
- Shoot from your subjects’ eye level. And capture their candid expressions.
- Add some Easter props, such as bunnies, chicks, flowers, dyed eggs, etc.

“Shoot from your subjects’ eye level.” – That is perhaps the single best advice for family photography. No kidding.
When you take a photo of your child, forget about your hurting knees and crouch to their height.
It makes a world of difference.
